My name is Daphne Bergkotte- van der Putten. I am a midwife, with a deep passion in the field of childbirth. Big examples for me in the world of midwifery are Ina May Gaskin, Michel Odent and Sheila Kitzinger. For me they embody the wisdom of the (pregnant) women, to guide them through birth without interference of their surroundings and in their being.
With my knowledge of the feminine body I am able to help women to feel their bodies again, connect with their root and radiate in their full feminine.
Nowadays I do not only work with pregnant women, but I also guide non- pregnant women (and sometimes man!) in opening up their bodies to get back in their natural radiant state, where I believe it is supposed to be.
In 2009 I graduated as a midwife. I studied in Belgium, where after my study I participated in a small midwifery practice. There we guided home/ and hospital births. After a while I felt the desire to learn more about complicated matters that can occur in childbirth and started to work as a clinical midwife. After that, I worked many years in a big Academic centre, where I attended the more complicated deliveries that needed specialised care.
In this hospital I was certified as Neonatal life support and Basic life support trainer.
Further, I am a certified hypnobirthing docent and I give (mostly private) pregnancy courses.
Working in a highly medical environment I tried to build bridges between the medical world and the spiritual world.
Besides my work as a midwife, I am now more than 14 years married with a beautiful and inspiring man. We have three sons within a range of age from 9 to 17 years old. I am super proud of them and feel grateful and blessed for their health and happiness!
A big inspiration is my spiritual journey, which led me to courses within a range of variety. I learned to pray, devotion amd meditation. I liberated myself sexually and embrace the beauty of people as sexual beings. I learned how to speak from a whole and clean truth. Truly listen and being heard. To feel, without judgement in full acceptance of what is.
I am very grateful I can walk this path with my husband.
Within tantra I learned about de-armouring. This is a method to free the body from blockages stored in the body as a defence mechanism. In 2016 I passed a teacher and bodywork training and became a professional tantric bodyworker, via TNT.
Also in 2016, I had the opportunity to train with Suzanne Roursgaard (Gaia therapy method) which gave me a good theory- and hands on skills in the field of internal and external de- armouring on both man and women.
Holistic Pelvic Care™
Holistic Pelvic Care™ is a method of internal pelvic work, developed by Tami Kent, M.S. Physical Therapy. It is designed to assess and restore balance to the pelvic space of the female body. Tami Kent uses a combination of physical and energetic tools and worked with thousands of women.
In 2017 I had the chance to attend the training Holistic Pelvic Care™. There I could deepen my practice of working with the pelvic bowl. I learned how to work on a structural level, like working with the fascia and organ alignment, as well as using visualisation techniques to re-imprint patterns of trauma, which I find very usefull specially after child birth.
Integral Pelvic Therapy®
All these techniques and knowledge make a blend of skills for me to work as a Women’s Health practioner. I noticed I developed my own way of working, which is a mix of haptonomie, fascia- and triggerpoint release, emotional bodywork and energetic work.
In januari 2018 I decided to stop working in the hospital as a clinical midwife. To deepen and built my practise as a bodyworker specialized in pregnancy and childbirth. My way of working got the name: Integral Pelvic Therapy®, which nowadays is registered in Europe. Currently I am associated with my friend and deeply wise women Mariette Frits. Together we are developing a training for professionals, about the work, to raise awareness in the Health Care- system and make it available for every women.
I feel proud to find my own path, to work from my heart and be supported by family and friends. I am deeply grateful to be highly respected by collegue bodyworkers, midwives and dokters. All seems to fall in place while my path is unfolding.
With love, Daphne
